D’accordo che oggi sarebbe più giusto pensare alla Limousine del Presidente di un paese democratico, ma bisogna ammettere che il gioco al Re e alla Regina rimane il più bello. Naturalmente due automobili uguali: una per il Re e una per la Regina.
With the toy car “Reale” the kids can play to be the King and the Queen. We all agree that today would be more usual thinking about the Limousine of a President in a democratic country, but we need to admit that playing thinking to be the King and the Queen is still more fascinating. Obviously two identical cars: one for the King and the other one for the Queen…
Il Camion dei Pompieri

Da bambini molti vogliono fare i pompieri, moltissimi i poliziotti, pochissimi il Papa. In più i pompieri hanno la bellezza del loro camion (… più in Inghilterra e in USA che non in Italia) lo sfolgorio del loro rosso, il timbro acuto delle sirene. In un mondo dove tutte le auto e i camion tendono ad essere uguali, l’auto/pompiere pare distinguersi con forza.
When we are children many of us would like to be firemen, so many more would like to be policemen, almost no one the Pope. Moreover, the firemen have the beauty of their truck (…more in England and in the United States than in Italy), their bright red, the high pitch of the sirens. In a world where all the cars and trucks tend to be the same, the firemen’s truck seems to be strongly different.

Fiorino nasce dall’umiltà dei lavori itineranti. E’ un moderno risciò che ospita profumi anziché sudore. E’ una piccola macchia colorata all’angolo di una via…lì fermo… mostra i sogni del momento. Chi passa sa già tutto questo e sorride.
Fiorino is born from street works humility. It is a modern rickshaw who hosts fragrances instead of sweat. It is a little coloured stain in a corner of a street…whom is there steady…showing the dream of the moment. Who pass already know everything about it and smile.
La Casa Mobile

A 9 anni la mia prima creazione: una casa, una casa vera di mattoni in cui si poteva entrare e giocare, in cui c’era anche un caminetto. Crescendo, ho iniziato gli esperimenti coi mezzi mobili, all’interno dei quali volevo ricreare il senso di accoglienza del salotto di casa. Il Kar-a-Sutra, un’automobile sottilmente diversa, voleva evitare ogni riferimento alle roulottes, miniature spesso grottesche della mitica casa per le vacanze. Il Transporter Volkswagen, un salotto viaggiante, è stato testimone dei viaggi con la mia famiglia. Vi si poteva conversare, prendere un te, ascoltare musica, rilassarsi, assistere, osservando dai finestrini, allo spettacolo del viaggio, dei luoghi che incontravamo. Quando ho realizzato il modello per TobeUs forse avevo in mente questi ricordi: la casetta di mattoni del bambino, i salotti viaggianti dell’adulto.
When I was 9 my first creation: a house, a real house made of brick in which you could went in and play, there was also a little fireplace. Growing up, I’ve started the experiments with the vehicles, in which I tried to recreate the sense of welcome you can find in the living room. The Kar-a-Sutra, a car thinly different, whom would to avoid every references to the caravans, often freaky miniatures of the legendary holiday home. The Transporter Volkswagen in which I’ve travelled all around the world with my family, it was a mobile living room where you could chatting, take a cup of tea, listening to the music, relaxing or simply enjoying the landscape through the windows. When I realized the TobeUs model maybe I had this memories in my mind: the kid brick-case, the adult mobile living rooms.
La Nuvolari

Il mio modellino “Nuvolari” ha origine dal ricordo delle automobiline con cui giocavo durante gli anni ‘50 e anche delle “Mille Miglia” che andavamo a vedere sulle prime rampe che da Firenze portano verso la Futa. Quei modelli aereodinamici, nati dal Futurismo, sembravano promettere un futuro “a tutta velocità”, ma probabilmente erano soltanto il sintomo di un paese che si sentiva “in ritardo” rispetto al resto del mondo e affidava a Tazio Nuvolari il volante per un disperato recupero…”
“Nuvolari” comes from the memory of the little toys cars I used to play with during the Fifties, but also from “Mille Miglia Races” that we used to see in Florence. That aerodynamic models born from Futurism seemed to promise a future “with all speed”, but they, probably, were just the manifestation of a country who felt the delay compared to the rest of the world and put in Tazio Nuvolari hands the wheel for a desperate comeback…
